Bad Habits

When I first got my job and I started making a lot more money that I was spending, I acquired an interesting habit. I would go shopping somewhere, say for food, and I would put things in my cart, taking note of their price, but in no way keeping any sort of tally. I would then continue to the checkout and swipe my card without question, not even thinking to look at the total. You could ask me how much I had just spent as I was walking to my car and I would only have a very rough guess without looking at the receipt.

Only recently have I been cured of this. Even in the past month when I have had basically no money because of the awful hours I’ve been getting at my job, I was still spending without regard. This isn’t to say that I was irresponsible with money, necessarily, but just a bit too uncaring. Anyway, being frugal is awesome, because having money is awesome. Now I just have to figure out what to do with it other than spending….
